odyssey-outbound day 2

We camped along the roiling colorado, clear sky, cool air, quiet nite, and milkshakes of milk of magnesia. walked thru moab, tourons and western glitter. mandy slept alone- in the woods and did not cry for help. a natural camper, breaky this am under the shade of oaks with lizards passing by on their daily quest for winged food. saw a condor streaking and stretched out against the opposite cliff face, maybe 1000 feet overhead. today we'll hike arches and toe-touch the river, which is running high with last snow early this week. all the peaks are white and gorgeous.
adios for friday....keep the comments coming, love to read em, marcus, peg, mandy
PS Mandy is recovering well from her navajo taco incident. Just say "Nava-NO"

Hi Guys! Dave & I worked on the yard tonight. Planted tomatoes, cucumbers, Lemon Symphony & Pansies. Talked about owning our own "homestead" just like our heroes, the Fuhrmans!

Trip sounds wonderful! What a wonderful way to go where you need to be going to...

Kevin has been putting the miles on like you guys and Paul; running to Wms for fire training and then to visit a friend in FMC who was in a car accident last Saturday! The friend is doing okay as we hope you are doing Big Guy?!

Talk back soon. Love ya' D&J

Love the photos!!! How was the hike today? I hiked out to the playground a couple of times today but that's about it for me. We're home and quiet for the weekend. Time to catch up on things.

Oh, No, MAndy Mae...taco loco? How are the milk of magnesia shakes doing? making it better for you,Marcus?
Em got a surprise day today. Lars had an apendectomy this afternoon, so she's at the hospital tonight. Will hear more tomorrow. A few too many "surprises" for all of us!!!
Love to mi tres amigoes in la deserta.

Sorry to hear Marcus is "facing" cancer (what is the correct expression in this case?)

Glad you are taking the opportunity to spend special family times.

I've just moved out to the Spokane area. Starting grad school in the fall. Valerie and her husband live in Seattle, so it's nice top be closer.

Prayers and good wishes for all of you.

hey marcus! sorry it's taken me a few days...my sis is in town from San Fransisco. We took Everett camping out at Desert View. Quite a nice little camping area. It was quite cold, but we managed!
Great pics! I love Moab! I love you too!!

Hi! I'm so glad you're headed back to Iowa but very sorry for the reason. I'm unsure of your date of arrival but will be in the Iowa City next Monday. Will you? If so, I'll make plans to see you! Happy travels! Beth

Ahh...Trolling around Colorado. What an awesome summer. Enjoy your 'milk of magnesia milkshakes'. Don't take too much. You can have too much of a good thing. Especially if it's a laxative.
