Odessey-outbound day 1

Wednesday, p.m. on the road, after endless sorting sox sacks and swimsuits, packing pans, plates and plants, and planning for 6 weeks away from home. Mandy mae and peggy won't let me lift *^&$ so i watch and wait. camped on the San Juan, cold and damp, beautiful afternoon and evening, repacked this am and on to arches, fossils and dino bones. tonite we camp somewhere in the rockies. thanks to all for the responses, serious, sad or silly, i'll take all you send. fun to see geezers learning to BLOG it. i feel good this sunny am, only anxious to get the operation into the past tense. my daughter is frowning/smiling after a grande veggie navajo taco for breakfast. peggy was awake more than i was thru the night and may need some serious shuteye. keep on blogging and we'll catch ya on the comeback, love, marcus and the traveling women

we'll see you DAY AFTER TOMORROW! we're once twice 'cited about that!

It's always been strange to me that an hour is always sixty minutes and that a day is always 24 hours and a week is always 7 days even though sometimes it goes SO FAST and when you're anxiously awaiting something it seems SO SLOW. Funny how it's always the same length.

We'll see you soon- safe journey.

hearts,
Alena

p.s. I still have all my teeth after my dental experiment. that's grand.

Dad-

Today is a day that's going fast. Still got to pack, but at least I'm getting the place ready to be gone. I never understood that as a kid, the whole cleaning frenzy immediately before a trip. I do now, though. Well, I just finished doing the kitchen "coast to coast" but I bet I can go in there and find 5 more things to clean up. Love ya and see ya sooooon

Move day....
Hi Marcus. Woke up in Albuquerque and flew back to Oakland and turning around and flying to San Juan Pureto Rico tonight on the Red Eye. Looks like we're both heading east. The San Juan is beautiful, I crisscrossed it on a bike tour a couple of years ago. Enjoy. I touched bases with Jules and she caught me up on the Fabulous Fuhrman's for the past few years. The river keeps flowing, don't it.
I did a little research on bladder blues and understand a little of what you are going through now. My heart is with you my dear old friend. Don't laugh at the wrong time.

Mister "Eff,"

Glad to hear things are off to a good start.

Luckies - getting to camp in the Rockies, my absolute favorite place in the entire world.

Say "hello" to the trees for me.

Hi you campers,
Sounds like a beautful day out on the range. Are you getting a little more sleep and maybe some rest too? Who's doing all the driving...Miss Mandy Mae or Peg? or should I say you? Wishing you bright blue sunny days as you head to KJ's. Will talk with you then.
I just got home from my "next-to-the-last" Open House at school! Yippee!!! PK's still on the road coming back from SF. Went up with Burt to move some stuff so I'll be up late waiting for him tonight.Thinking about you, bro , and sending love to all 3 of you.
Kisses,
Jules

KKCCMMDD1Kind of glad you fixed that camper's backdoor right about now -aren't ya... If the overnight lows in Colorado are anything like it was in Nevada on my ride home it's pretty nippy at night.....Throw another sleeping bag on and get your rest...Ride safe:
