Peggy updating - not as entertaining as Marcus!

Hello friends, family, and fans of Marcus - hey that's aliteration!
Since the last update we've had visits from Marcus' sister, Emily, Steve (her husband), and our nephew, Lars, plus my sister, Mary and her husband Mike came for a week leaving this past Wednesday. We treasure the time spent with them and goodbyes were difficult and quiet. Our friend, Judi, comes this weekend and Peter, Marcus' brother from France, arrives for a short visit Monday. He'll take us to Las Vegas to catch a flight to the coast for a week with Julie and Paul. Marcus has had chemo 4 days in the last three weeks plus a transfusion which did make his red blood count go up - he looks forward to two weeks without treatment. When we fly back to Vegas we'll rest then head for Flagstaff for a PET scan and short chemo day. We'll rest again at Kelso's Stately Manor before heading for the canyon and a Melodrama written by Bob (of Kelso's Stately Manor) and performed by friends at the community building. Proceeds to go to - you guessed it - the Fuhrman family.
In closing, we appreciate all that friends, family, and even strangers are doing for us. Thanks to you, I can stay home with Marcus. Mandy is working as a bartender at the Bright Angel Lodge at the Grand Canyon and is staying at the "other" Kelso Stately Manor. We're glad she is getting a life and is still close by.
Every day remains a gift, Peggy and Marcus

Thinking of you both as always, from here in the low desert, and looking forward to seeing you at the melodrama on the 19th! Hope to see Kelsos here in Tucson, tonight, too.
Much love,
Cindy and Mark

Have fun at the coast and say hi to the ocean for us! Also tell the ocean that we'll see it soon! The hospital I will be working at is about 12 miles from the Pacific. A fact that Wes is excited about, for sure.

Miss you!

Hi Marcus,
We're here in Petaluma for the weekend. KJ's out running, Peter's talking to Foster who's licking his toes, Mom's in the kitchen making tea and me on the emails. Can't wait to see you on Wed. night. Days at the beach will be good for all of us, nothing better than that salty sea air. Maybe a trip up to see the elephant seals or watching the boats in Morro Bay and definitely the sunsets over Pismo. So, rest up, sweet brother, and we'll take good care of you and Peg while you're here. Oh, now you'll get to see all my gardens blooming with hope just for you.
Love always and always,
Julie

Marcus and Peggy,
Have a happy week at the coast. A new view to look at is good. I hope it gives you rest and time with those relationships you cherish.
Gearing up for another WCCT production of Curious Savage opening on the 18th. I am back in Box Office management. Kids are busy and well. I just spent money on the 5th set of braces for 4 kids. Jan is special getting two sets!!
Talk of snow flakes again today!!!! The trillium are blooming in the woods, so I know new spring life is about to pop everywhere.Hope to hear of your coastal adventures when you return. Thinking of you.

Hey Marcus!

It looks like spring may finally be coming to Iowa. Cathy is busy rehearsing for "Curious Savage". She plays a mental patient. Must be careful about typecasting! Carrie is wrapping up "Sarah, Plain & Tall this weekend & then leaves for her two week to trip to Germany. Steve has multiple track meets & will interview in Nevada (Ia) next week. It would be nice to keep him nearby. Emily student taught in an inner city school in Waterloo. She loved the kids there. The first day a little one came up to her & said "Dang, Ms Olson you is looking good!"
You guys continue to be in our thoughts & prayers.

Well, 6-10 inches of snow overnight tonight. I should just start each entry that way. Ed and his sister Rae are off to see the sandhill cranes in Nebraska, so I am left to packing boxes. I have found some treasures and some trash and am keeping way too much. I will travel to Linda's the first weekend in May. We are going to an auction at the house they will be moving into. Just what I need more stuff. Joe is excited about going to Lollapolooza (sp) in Chicago this summer. His mom is not quite so excited about him going. Hope this finds you both enjoying your time with Julie and Paul (is that now?) Soak in the warm breeze and sunshine, then send some to MN. Love to all, Sue

Hi Mom & Dad! About to head up to your place to check on Brian's ability to remain non-dependent. Wish you'd be there but I will see you soon at the Mellodrama, should be so much fun! Plus you might just get to meet my new non-deformed non-chump man friend!
Sue: don't worry about Lollapalooza (I can't spell it either), Joe will have a lot of fun!! Plus I heard they stopped burning things after last year... kidding. :)

Hi, bro in law and sis,

Mandy at the GC is full circle, isn't it? The Fuhrman's should always keep one foot in the Canyon. I'm sure the California trip was soothing...did you visit the ocean? I am incessantly sending you sister love and prayers. I'll call you after the 18th as I'm ready to buy those tickets. Bye for now!
Patty

Don't tell but I am playing hooky (suddeningly I drew a blank on how to spell that!) I am ditching a seminar on chemical safety in the workplace. I was in charge of the fruit and muffins, coffee, etc. Seems like that is always my job, but I came into the office to "check on things" and have to make myself return. Just a note to tell you that you are on my mind particularly today. I don't know why, but feel some strong connection today...hmmm....well, know that you are both in my thoughts more than everyday. We are on our way to Iowa on Friday with a "load of crap"...Ed's words, not mine. And on Sunday evening will be spending time with the people of mom's church, celebrating Del's sister's 65 years as organist at their church. They are having a dinner so we will get to see many of mom's friends. Especially dear Katy (next door neighbor.) Well, I have rambled on enough. Back to learning how to use my left brain, that is next on the agenda. Love you lots and lots....Sue
Note to Mandy: there is a new music festival in Des Moines on the forth of July this year. they are calling it "80-35." Joe's favorite group the Flaming Lips is playing! Check it out on 80_35.com.

MR. FuhrMAN!
School is almost out... And i can not wait untill summer time. Everyone is becoming restless including the teachers. It's kind of funny how work starts becoming easier because many teachers find grading to be burdensome in the last months of school ( i enjoy this freedom):) I just remember learning about Julius Caesar in your class. The activities were so entertaining and at the same time educating.Infact, i actually remember the literature behind it. Poor ole' Julius oh well he wasn't my favorite person anyways. He was just a tad bit tyranical okay 'A LOT' bit. MAn, i miss your class.

Well, i hope you are enjoying the warm "dusty" rays of sunlight in between the cold bursts of wind. A few days ago we went to paria beach at Lee's Ferry it was very relaxing and nice. If you get the chance you should go there for an afternoon nap( that is what i did).

I will see you soon perhaps with a plate of cookies . yummmmm
Love,
Adair

HI Marcus,
Missing you but loved coming home to hear your voice on my answer machine.( And a very perky voice too, that was great!) It's gonna stay there a LONG time! Glad Peggy-o made the drive to Flag safely, I know it's not her favorite way to spend a Thursday. So hard to wave good-bye from behind that glass yesterday. But knowing you're in the arms of Peg who loves you more than ever, makes it a bit easier. She's an amazing woman, Marcus. Hold her close. PK and I loved your visit and time to relax in the sunshine with you.In fact, it was pretty hard to go back to work this morning, I kinda liked those "retirement practice" days. My goodness, we were so lucky to have such amazingly beautiful and warm days. Guess it was just meant to be perfect for your visit.
Lovin you always and forever,
Julie

OOPS, sorry everyone...didn't notice that Marcus/Peg had left his name signed onto the blog on my computer, so I posted as my brother. That's a new one!!!
Love to all those who love and care so deeply for Marcus.

Hello in the Southwest from the sunny, spring-like Midwest. What a pretty day today! I woke to the sound of a finch singing a crazy tune for all he was worth. It was such a happy sound I decided that today was going to be a good day (& if anything happens to change this I'm going to be very put out!).
"The Curious Savage" made it through the first weekend at WCCT. Its such a sweet show. Pick-up rehearsal is Thursday, and then shows Friday-Sun. Then its over. Funny how fast the 6-7 weeks of rehearsals can fly.
Anyway, just wanted to sent a "hello" & an e-hug your way. I've been thinking about you both a lot...
Abby :-)

Sitting in the shade on the patio and thinking about, what else? All of you! It seems the whole desert is in bloom and the bees and hummingbirds are very busy--truly Tucson's best time of year.
Much love coming your way,
Cindy
