Trick and Treats part II

at some wonderful time in the last century, i used many of the words in the song below. tune is mellow and words are true= will you marry me peggy-o? i like it, six minutes of serinity in a world of constant distraction. also, so many years with a woman of wonder and caring. my own Peggy-O. love is so good...

now, weekend update by Carvin Mygut. had the surgery, 7 days later it still was the pits, hoses all over/under/up/in my body, ga-ga drugs and too many needles. surgery was half ok=got my new plumbing fixtures which had to happen, half not ok, bladder stayed put, too much cancer round and bout it. so we go to ANOTHER option. radiation therapy. seems like they can zap the blad from without, without it out! that's "three outs" in one sentence, pretty cool huh? hey, bladder, bladder, ok, i'll stop, but the game continues. i am and i know peg and our kids are also, so touched and tendered by your words of love, support and caring.

Feeling much better tonite, had pizza and soup and eggs today, no, not on one plate.
wonderful people have helped and special thanx to my loving, doting children, mandy the mistress of makeup, wes the best head bonker i've ever known, alena for constant care and instant info resource, and others, where do i begin? with cindy and mark for ultra accommadations, bob and laura for in house support, dan and terry-0 for the same, shelly and tom for keeping it green and Johna and Mel for helping clean, jim-bo and vicki for his drive bys, dix and patty for continued heartland connections, all the builders, rock stars and dirt devils from the makeover weekend, renae & davie dob for "what the heck are you trying to do here fuhrman" efforts, Brandi for mail call, Keith and Nancy for diesel dollars, canyon folks for the pot lucks and stayovers, and to all my familyphonecalls:awesome see you soon. thanks also to Billy B for the tune. I do love my Peggy O.
all for now, time for more food for rebuilding and bulking up for WWF.

love to all, marcus
(ps: if you feel left out, you're not, i'm just not perfect with memory)

Wes really is king of the head bonk, among other things. And my nursing professors would be pleased that I am an "instant info source."

We're back in the swing here, for the most part. Our absence was completely understood by all and thankfully didn't leave us too behind in homework and the like. It's nice to be home but can't wait to be with you again. Chances are with so many Fuhrmans around we'll fatten you up good, and unfortunately ourselves as well. Glad to hear you're eatin' and making good food choices by not putting all those things on the same plate. Pizza with egg drenched in soup. mmm... although there is a restaurant up here that serves a burger with a fried egg on top of it (oh, you gotta love the midwest).

Can't wait to see you again. Wes sends love and head bonks, even though his hands are in the fish tank. Some things never change.

Love you guys,
Alena and Wes

p.s. All this food talk has made me hungry, I'm going to go eat some split pea soup, much to Wesley's chagrin...

THe YouTube video was really sweet! Any songs out there written to a Marcus? The only character named Patty I've ever seen in movie or TV is that carnival motorcycle chick in "The Jerk". Oh. Oh. and that 8-track song, "Cow Patty". But I'm tangential. I can't wait to see you guys...I'm looking to come down Christmas week. Hope there's snow on Navajo Mountain. Gotta be back to work for the man by January 2. Let me know if you want me to bring you anything from Iowa....Grant Wood postcard....a pig...an ear of corn. Snow doesn't transport well across desertland borders. Let's just all put bows on our heads; I think I'll call us "gifts"!

love, obnoxious hugs,
Patty-o

Hi Marcus,
Seems like 3AM has become my "lay in bed and toss and turn time" so decided to get up this morning and send love to you and Peggy-O as you head back to Page. You are always in my heart and never, never off my mind. You have so many prayers coming from the central coast and all that love and poisitve energy flies right out to you there in the desert. Can you feel it, my loving, handsome, strong, witty and sweet brother?

Such a busy weekend with Mom's 85th birthday party, good times with family though we all missed you dearly. Mom loved it all, tears in her eyes as we all sang Happy Birthday. She looked so pretty sitting in the sun in Alec's backyard with Gertrude beside her. Got to meet the newest member of the clan...Pier's baby boy, Charles. (CT was lovin' that name!) And, I'm sure you would have been a player in the video game rock band competiton that was going on between Lars, Sky, Trev, Thomas and Molly...hmmmm, was Harry III playing too?
Then PK and I found a beautiful new campground in the Santa Cruz Mts. west of Gilroy as we headed home on Monday. Standing at the top of the ridge we could see down to Santa Cruz and Monterey with huge redwood trees all around us. Peaceful (off season tis the best time to camp) and warm and so...we'll have to make plans to get you up there to see all this beauty once the rad treatments are finished. That Vanagan's gotta see Cali!

I hear there's a major wave of family arriving for and around turkey day. Love is a healing force for you and each of us as well. PK's determined to find a way to repair the "one burner knob dilema" so cooking that turkey dinner is a success! I know you've tried everything, so he's got quite the challenge. Tell Peggy we'll do some dyno cooking, any requests for a favorite dish? I've even picked a special jello recipe for our Mandy's delight!

We'll pick up Wes and Alena on Tuesday morning and head straight away to canyonlands of Lake Powell. That desert is sure growing on me. I so get why you love living there. OK, so now it's 4:30 (yes, I'm a SLO writer) almost time to make coffee and go find some peace in the garden room. My memory is full with flashes of the times we've sat there together and laughed, sang songs with Alec, made calls to get that engine replaced on the SAAB, told stories with Patty here, shared an early morning cuppa joe together, and lived life.

So, here's my morning prayer to find a healing way for you. I love you, Marcus!
Your big sis,
Jules

Hi There Marcus, I can never remember my password. I just wrote lots of stuff to you and Peggy and Mandy, my favorite girl and Wes and Alena and then I lost it all. I am losing it all!!! Or maybe I already have. Anyway I will try again to send my love. Carlye is praying for you every day Marcus, and is positive that you will beat this. You are so upbeat all the time that I have made you my official hero as well as my husband without benefits. Anyway it snowed a bit here in the mountains and I saw it up close and personal on a hike on Saturday. I had to work another 3 day week, it has been rough, being off for 4 days and then on for 3 days. I have been to New Mexico, Supai in the Grand Canyon and to Spearfish, South Dakota in the last three weeks. The world is a beautiful place, as long as you are outside Vegas. Anyway hugs and kisses and see you soon. Normie

Well my friend, every day is indeed a gift - and I am SO glad you have your family and friends around you to help you through this portion of your journey. As we come up on 9 months here in San Luis Obispo, we are feeling truly blessed to have found this little corner of Creation known as the Central Coast of California. Good group of people in the church, GREAT fresh seafood, PLENTY of theatre opportunities - both watching and doing (did I tell you I got to sing the role of Caiaphas in a production of "JC Superstar" this last summer?), and the weather ... well, did I mention we're on the California Central Coast?! Take care, be well, and enjoy life - this is NOT a dress rehearsal! Peace & blessings ..... REV CURT =)>

Hi Guys,
Hope CT and the 2 Harry;'s made it down there yesterday. I've been trying to call but not lucky today, will try again later. You know PK and i are sending our love and getting excited to be there wih you on Tues. Gotta love missing school for 2 and a half days! I was reading some of your old blogs and comments and hope you are too...there's a couple very special comments in different places: Niki, Shelley and Peter have sent some these last couple of days and they're in some of you earlier blog comment sections.
It's been a gorgeous day here in AG warm and so clear I can see all the way to Oceano dunes and that reminds me of our hikes there across that lake and boardwalk and onto the windy part of the beach.I love seeing that beautiful stretch of the beach (with NO dunebuggies anywhere). Remember climbing up those huge sand dunes and rolling down or getting lost out there? So many wonderful memories just keep coming back to me when I think about you.So, be brave my dear brother. You have an awesome spirit inside of you and I know we'll do this walk together, every piece of it, because I love you so.
Jules

Hey Big Bro:

If everyday is a gift, why do some days feel like a pair of slipper-socks? O.K. maybe they all can't be a new Schwinn bike, but, I mean really, shouldn't the bare minimum be the yearly new pair of Levi's?

Hey, I was flashing on the times I used to stay with you on Walnut St in SLO when you were working on the sports cars that you brought over from Europe.(My favorite ? The Black Sebring with the HUGE gas cap that popped open for quick fillups durring a race!) Well, you loaned me your bike and I used to go bike riding around san luis ; you gave me plenty of freedom and love. (what more does one need, anyway ?) I remember carrying a couple of wacky tobaccy sticks in my pocket one day and you lived just across the street from the POlice station. As I rode up near the entrance, where the water fountain was, someone (not me!) had put soap in the water and it was sudsing up pretty good and I was laughing at the absurdity of it, and up walked 2 of SLO's finest, they started questing me, thinking that I had put the soap in the fountain. I was wholly freaked, but managed to talk my way out of there with out them busting me, and I am pretty sure I never told you that story...I was too glad to escape to even bring it up again. I went back up your super-steep driveway and went inside and threw myself into your awesome record collection. I really liked that Jimmy Buffet record you had about the bear, and the guy who was "Gods own drunk; a fearless man..." Your taste in music always has a large element of humor in it and I'll be danged if I'm not the same... I enjoy placing songs next to each other in my set-list that, if you love one, you just might hate the next; for example "If you're going to San Francisco" followed up by "Oakie from Muskogee".Thanks for gifting me with a twisted and fun musical sense of humor. Those are treasured days and I thank you brother for letting this teenager hang in your shadow.

I love you

Alec - life is good

Cindy, what a list! I would add Happy, Texas; Da Ali G Shows; A Mighty Wind; and Best in Show. To really appreciate Young Frankenstein, you should see it in a theater with Mark. When we went more than a few years ago, Mark had already seen it and shouted out each punchline just before a character said it. It was hilarious for us, perhaps a bit less so for other audience members.

Marcus and Peggy, greetings from GC. Sorry we missed the fun and poker games last weekend! It sounds like you're about to have a great Thanksgiving with friends and family, enjoy!

With a copious amount of love and affection,
We remain,
Most sincerely yours,
Bob and Laura

Peggy, Marcus and all,
Dreary...beautiful... MN day. Frost on the pumpkins...if I had any pumpkins. Working full time now, back parttime at a job I had 10 years ago. Still at the library in the afternoons. Somehow my last message got deleted...attached to the Marcus rockumentary. Did we get censored? Cool! Joe on his way home tomorrow. Big college guy. But he still requests special K bars. Peggy I used your mom's Lasagne recipe last week - with a few updates. I remember the first time I ever had pizza was at your house. Your mom made it, and I thought it was sooooooo cosmopolitan. Glad to see Alena and Wes will soon be on their way to you. Must run I am on the clock at work.
Love you all,
Sue
